The 2024 "China Management 50 Forum" was successfully held at East China Normal University, witnessing the unveiling of the "Technological Innovation and Business Strategy Research Center"

On November 22, 2024, the "China Management 50 Forum" was successfully held at the Yifu Building Lecture Hall of East China Normal University Putuo Campus. The forum is hosted by East China Normal University and jointly organized by Shanghai International School of Chief Technology Officer and Asia Europe Business School. With the theme of "New Quality Productivity and Management Change", renowned scholars in the management field were invited to give keynote speeches and hold closed door meetings for discussion. This forum focuses on the transformation of China's science and technology innovation practices, exploring topics such as science and technology business and the cultivation of senior management talents. The forum is hosted by Wei Jiang, a Changjiang Scholar Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education and President of Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics.

At the beginning of the forum, Xi Youmin, Executive President of Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University and Senior Professor of Xi'an Jiaotong University, delivered a speech. He reviewed the original intention and mission of the "China Management 50 Forum", pointing out that this forum focuses on hot issues, collides with new management ideas, focuses on specific topics, and solves new problems that arise in the world and China's management studies in the new era. Professor Xi Youmin's speech once again resonated with the attending experts. As a dynamic open community composed of senior Chinese management scholars, it shoulders the mission of developing and leading the transformation of the management discipline. In the current new era, this sense of mission is particularly important.

Next, Professor He Jiaxun, Executive Dean of Shanghai International School of Chief Technology Officer (East China Normal University) and Chinese Dean of Asia Europe Business School, delivered a speech on behalf of the organizers. He stated that in the past 7 years, the "China Management 50 Forum" has made positive contributions to the Chinese management academic community. The new round of technological revolution has brought great challenges and opportunities for the development of management. How to deeply understand the new quality productivity and leverage the role of management as a new production factor is a major issue in current management studies. Under the leadership of President Qian Xuhong, Academician, East China Normal University proposed the interdisciplinary construction of "Sci-Tech Driven Business", leading the innovation of education, cultivating scientific and technological talents for new quality productivity, establishing new disciplines such as "Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Science", and exploring new contributions to the development of new quality productivity.

Subsequently, Professor Wei Jiang and Professor Xi Youmin jointly unveiled the plaque for the newly established "Technological Innovation and Business Strategy Research Center" at Shanghai International School of Chief Technology Officer. This means that CTO School and Asia Europe Business School will increase their efforts in interdisciplinary construction of sci- tech driven business on a new research platform, change the traditional research paths and paradigms of business and management, directly support the practice of technology transfer and transformation with the advantages of new disciplines, strengthen contribution orientation towards "management education to cope with major challenges", further fulfill the mission of the college to "realize the social value of technology through the collaborative transformation of people and technology", and undertake the important task of cultivating science and technology innovation talents driven by national strategic needs.


After completing the public keynote speech in the morning, Professor Xi Youmin, Executive President of Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University, presided over the closed-door meeting in the afternoon. Professor Cai Li from Jilin University, Professor Wu Zhaoyun from Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Professor Wei Hang from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Professor Chen Zhijun from Shandong University, Professor Guo Jurong from Belgium United Business School, Professor Huang Zhongyi from Chongqing Technology and Business University, Professor Li Kai from China Northeast Revitalization Research Institute, Professor Liang Jian from Tongji University, Professor Pan Yu from Shanghai International Studies University, Director Song Chengyu from the editorial department of Foreign Economics and Management, Professor Wei Nongjian from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Professor Jin Rungui from East China Normal University, Professor Jia Lijun from East China Normal University, Associate Professor Yan Shifu from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Professor Wang Qiwen from Peking University, among 15 senior management scholars, delivered personal speeches. All attendees focused on new quality productivity and management innovation, as well as the forefront of science and technology business. Extensive and in-depth discussions were held on issues such as development, and the atmosphere on site was lively.

The "China Management 50 Forum" was initiated by Professor Wang Fanghua, former dean of the Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Professor Xi Youmin, executive president of Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University. It was officially established on September 29, 2017 at Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University. The forum is dedicated to exploring management theories, especially those with Chinese characteristics, and aims to promote the integration of management theories with Chinese enterprise management practices. It summarizes the experience of innovative development of excellent Chinese enterprises, responds to the challenges brought by the new technological revolution, and makes the necessary contributions of Chinese management scholars to the revitalization of the Chinese economy and society, the rise of Chinese enterprises, and the formation of the Chinese management school. The annual theme of this forum is "New Quality Productivity and Management Reform", reflecting the new mission and social responsibility of Chinese management studies. This forum has achieved important ideological results, contributing to the innovation and transformation of business and management studies in the new era, and promoting new developments and actions in China's management discipline.
