The ECNU Alumni Association is a strategic alliance unit of the CTO School. The two sides have cooperated in alumni classes, industry-education integration programs, joint forums and other aspects.
The ECNU Alumni Association (ECNUAA) is a joint, national, non-profit social organization with legal personality voluntarily formed by the ECNU alumni. The Alumni Association aims to unite the alumni at home and abroad, and promote the contact and communication between the alumni at home and abroad as well as between the alumni and Alma Mater, serve the alumni, inherit and carry forward the school motto “Be Realistic and Creative, Be a Model for Others” of the ECNU, give full play to the collective strength of the alumni and jointly contribute to the development of the Alma Mater and the prosperity and strength of the Chinese nation.
As early as the 40th anniversary of the university in 1991, the university put forward the idea of establishing the Alumni Association, and has continued to carry out the basic work such as alumni contact and data collection. In 2002, the ECNU Alumni Association was formally established with the approval of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau. In order to better serve the alumni at home and abroad, integrate alumni resources and support the educational undertaking of the university, the inaugural meeting of the ECNU Alumni Association was held on the riverbank of the Liwa River on September 20, 2013 with the approval from the Ministry of Civil Affairs of PRC, marking that the ECNU Alumni Association has officially become a social organization recognized by the state and entered a new historical period.
Guided by the concept of “Cohesion, Development and Dream”. the ECNU Alumni Association has gathered the strength of alumni, fully guided social resources and sought development with alumni relying on the alumni associations from all over the country and the department and industry alumni associations, etc. and focusing on serving the university and alumni.
Since its inception, the ECNU Alumni Association has opened up new prospects in the work of alumni associations across the country and has carried out future alumni training work through actively contacting alumni, setting up alumni organizations, improving alumni service quality and enhancing the culture promotion of alumni. At present, it has formed a multi-faceted communication mode with alumni in a variety of interactive ways, strengthened the communication between the university and alumni and enhanced the alumni’s sense of identity with the university. Meanwhile, it created featured activities such as the Alumni Association Joint Meetings, Alumni Day and Liwa River Night New Year Concert, to strengthen the brand cohesion of the Alumni Association.
In the future, the ECNU Alumni Association will continue to explore deeper and more comprehensive cohesion of ECNUers and make efforts to realize the common development of alumni and the university.
