On May 8th, the 12th "MEMTechnology-Innovation Enterprise Practical Classroom" was successfully held. More than ten Master of Engineering Management students went to Shanghai Sweet-Tech Co., Ltd. located in Jinshan District to visit and exchange ideas.
Shanghai Sweet-Tech is the first science and technology innovation complex in China that integrates research and development, science and technology innovation, and leisure, integrating artificial intelligence and agriculture. The company collaborates with multiple agricultural research institutes to develop a comprehensive agricultural artificial intelligence robot that integrates AI intelligent algorithms, visual recognition, positioning navigation, neural networks, structure, kinematics, fluid dynamics, electrical and automation. By independently developing the SWEET OS and SAIGA architecture, we aim to revolutionize traditional agricultural machinery. In this on-site classroom, Sheng Yanguang, Deputy General Manager of Diantian Technology, led the students into the Sweet-Tech AI experimental base to deeply explore the mysteries behind smart agriculture. Professor Liu Du from CTO School and Administrative Director Zhang Qiongqiong participated in the event together.
With the changes in population structure, the population engaged in agriculture is getting older, and the problem of shortage of rural agricultural labor is gradually becoming more prominent. In the "Fourteenth Five Year" National Agricultural and Rural Science and Technology Development Plan issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in 2021, it is clearly proposed to accelerate the research, development and application of technologies that combine Internet plus, Internet of Things+, big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain, etc. with agriculture. In the future, the key to promoting agricultural transformation is to develop smart agriculture, which can quickly create value, solve repetitive labor, and make up for the loss of rural labor. "Unmanned, intelligent, and automated agriculture will become the mainstream trend in China's future agriculture," said Wang Jinyue, founder of Diantian Technology, in an interview with the agricultural industry observer. "Remote control farming of 1000 acres per person is no longer unattainable for Chinese farmers. Sitting in the office and farming will become a fashion."
At the symposium, Mr. Sheng introduced to his classmates that the intelligent robot business of Sweet-Tech Agriculture is mainly divided into three major sections: horticulture, field, and national forestry. Under each section, there are multiple intelligent robots suitable for different application scenarios, such as AI rotary tillage robots, AI furrow making robots, AI seeding robots, AI plant protection robots, and AI harvesting robots.
Regarding the core technological advantages, Mr. Sheng emphasized the SWEET OS independently developed by the Sweet-Tech team, which has all its own intellectual property rights. It is the world's first AI intelligent operating system independently developed for agricultural robots. SWEET OS, combined with SAIGA architecture, optimizes and integrates Sweet-Tech's internal and cooperative suppliers from top to bottom in terms of enterprise system, R&D system, production system, and parts system. It comprehensively solves the traditional agricultural system with more scientific and refined AI solutions, and quickly develops, designs, produces, and deploys full scenario digital agricultural robots.
Subsequently, the students came to the experimental field to observe the working mode and status of the intelligent agricultural robot up close; I also walked into the research and development center, under the leadership of Mr. Sheng, to understand the structure and details of each robot one by one. Through this trip to the MEM on-site classroom for science and technology innovation enterprises, students have gained a deeper practical understanding of AI empowering agriculture and a further understanding of the development model of the smart agriculture full chain industry.
