On November 8, 2021, the master’s degree in engineering management was approved by the Ministry of Education. On December 21st, the master’s degree program in engineering management of East China Normal University (in chief technology officer cultivation) was officially released and fully launched. As the world’s first degree program for cultivating chief technology officers, it marks that the training of chief technology officer has entered the development stage of professional master’s education.

The master’s degree program of engineering management of East China Normal University focuses on cultivating fully integrated chief technology officer (CTO) with the original “T-shaped talent” educational logic and unique “4+X” curriculum system structure.
The project was founded under the leadership of Qian Xuhong, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of East China Normal University. It meets the demand for executives in the development of scientific and technological innovation and is oriented to artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, biomedicine and several strategic emerging industries. The trained talents will be able to acquire global horizon, insight into technological trends, excellent creativity, innovative thinking, technology transformation and commercialization ability, as well as outstanding organizational management and technical leadership. They will manage to successfully hold the leading position of technology management in science and innovation enterprises, or will become potential science and technology strategic entrepreneurs.
