On October 13th, the second session of Practical Classroom series for Sci&Tech Innovation Executive Education at the Shanghai International School of Chief Technology Officer (CTO School) was successfully held at the NIO Jiading Nanxiang Experience Center. CTO School is committed to realizing the social value of technology through the collaborative transformation of people and technology, adhering to the core values of innovation changing the world, shaping the thinking, abilities, and patterns of technology and innovation management leaders, and cultivating Chief Technology Officers and future technology-based strategic entrepreneurs with a global perspective and social mission. To this end, CTO School is oriented towards national needs and future development, relying on the construction of industry-education integration base, integrating school-enterprise resources, and collaborating with innovative enterprises in various industries to create a new teaching form of enterprise visits+innovation face-to-face - the Science and Technology Innovation Enterprise Practical Classroom series. This aims to help students enter the enterprise, experience and learn technology and innovative management thinking from the enterprise, and enhance their comprehensive abilities.
This time, the practical classroom was set in NIO(NextEV Inc.), a global intelligent electric vehicle company established in November 2014, representing domestic high-end electric vehicles in global competition. Its main products include NIO ES8, ES7, ES6, EC7, EC6, ET7, ET5, EP9, EVE, etc. NIO is committed to creating a joyful lifestyle for users by providing high-performance intelligent electric vehicles and the ultimate user experience. The company has established research and development and production institutions in 12 global locations, including Shanghai, Beijing, Munich, and London, bringing together thousands of world-class automotive, software, and user experience industry talents. It has initially established a user service system covering the entire country in the Chinese market.
The students had a one-stop experience of service links such as car pickup and delivery, NIO House, technology exhibition hall, battery replacement, and test drive. They also explored and experienced the core technology, products, and services of NIO up close.
At the beginning, the staff of NIO Jiading Nanxiang Experience Center briefly explained the overview of NIO to the students and introduced the world's largest NIO delivery center where everyone is currently located. The entire area consists of the front area (user contact area) and the rear area (vehicle operation area). The main functions of the front area are reception, bar rest, one-on-one vehicle pick-up procedures, delivery explanations, and taking photos as souvenirs; The rear area is the pre-delivery new vehicle inspection area, which has undergone over 200 inspections on the vehicle's appearance, interior, and system functions to ensure the quality of each delivered vehicle.
The staff introduced the overall layout of NIO Power to everyone in NIO House. At present, about 1951 NIO exchange power stations have been built nationwide, with a cumulative number of real-time exchange times exceeding 30 million. Behind the impressive number, the most crucial point lies in technology. The Jiading Nanxiang NIO Experience Center has specially created a technology exhibition hall, showcasing core technologies such as the NIO ET7 white body, NIO Innovation technology wall, and the entire family of charging stations. Subsequently, the students followed the staff and came here to learn about the NIO ultra high strength body architecture and hardcore design.
The students visited the first NIO third-generation power station in Shanghai and its supporting 500kW overcharge, and observed the vehicle's fully automatic power exchange process up close on site. A NIO EV was seen reversing along the guiding slope and entering the charging platform. It was automatically adjusted to the corresponding position through the car positioning system. The switching system obtained a fully charged power battery from the charging platform and moved it to the underside of the vehicle for battery replacement. The removed low battery was then sent to the charging platform to start charging. In just a few minutes, a power change was completed, and the entire process did not require manual operation. The students expressed their admiration for the intelligence and efficiency of this power change method.
Under the guidance of the staff, some students also personally boarded the car to experience NIO's test drive service. Through this practical classroom, the students deeply explored the technical design and ultimate user experience of NIO's hard core, inspiring innovative thinking about the intelligent electric vehicle industry. At this point, the Practical Classroom series of science and technology innovation executive education has come to a successful end.
