On October 25th, MEM World Famous University Domestic Study Tour organized by Shanghai International School of Chief Technology Officer was successfully held at New York University Shanghai. NYU Shanghai is the first Sino American joint research university in China jointly founded by East China Normal University and New York University. It is also one of the three major campuses in the global system of New York University with degree granting qualifications. The event invited Professor Tong Shijun, the President of New York University Shanghai, and Professor Ding Shuzhe, the Vice President of New York University Shanghai, to give keynote speeches and exchange with everyone. All faculty members and more than 20 MEM students participated in the event. He Jiaxun, Executive Dean of Shanghai International School of Chief Technology Officer and Chinese Dean of Asia Europe Business School, presided over the event.

Tong Shijun, the President of New York University Shanghai , briefly introduced the founding process  and several characteristics of the university. In academic terms, the University has a dual identity, serving as both a Chinese university and a branch of New York University. The ratio of Chinese students to international students is basically 1:1. In terms of social mission, the University serves as a testing ground for China's higher education reform and development, and is also an important project for cultural exchanges between China and the United States. In terms of educational philosophy, NYU Shanghai hopes to cultivate outstanding talents who are compatible with cosmopolitanism and patriotism, and to address the global challenges of this era through cross-cultural exchange and cooperation.

Ding Shuzhe, Vice President of New York University Shanghai, delivered a speech on The Characteristics of Independent Higher Education Institutions in Sino-foreign Cooperation: A Case Study of New York University Shanghai. He stated that as the popularization of higher education in China further consolidates and improves, the development characteristics of diversification, personalization, learning, modernization and other popularization stages become more prominent, and it is more necessary to pay attention to exploring the global significance of future education. Therefore, NYU Shanghai focuses on students' scientific perspectives and curiosity, interest based active learning, practical exploration spirit, humanistic literacy, critical thinking ability, and interdisciplinary ability, aiming to cultivate internationalized and innovative talents with a global perspective.

In the Q&A communication session, Professor Ding Shuzhe and relevant functional department heads answered the questions of the students, discussing and exchanging ideas on how  New York University Shanghai can stimulate creativity and empower students through its rich academic resources, and how to help students with career planning and career development.

After the exchange meeting, the students also visited the campus of New York University Shanghai, visiting the library, self-study area, sports and fitness center, leadership center, career development center, etc. The campus walls of NYU Shanghai are covered with posters of various student club activities, and information on career development and leadership enhancement is printed on both sides of the corridor. Students in groups of three or two in the self-study classroom are engaged in group discussions.Everyone can experience and immerse themselves in the open campus atmosphere.
