After the exchange meeting, led by Wu Qiujue, the visiting team visited the history exhibition of Shanghai Research Institute of Instrumentation (SRII), and gained a deeper understanding of the historical changes of SRII from the pre-reform and opening-up period to the restructuring of the enterprise. In particular, Wu Qiujue highlighted the new Chinese character coding method, “Seeing Characters, Knowing Codes,” invented by Academician Zhi Bing Yi, a researcher, chief engineer, and honorary director at the Shanghai Instrumentation Research Institute (SIRI). This method laid the foundation for the convenience of computerized text output used today. Afterwards, the crowd went to Shanghai Haoshun Technology Co., Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SIIS, and visited the R&D and production workshop. The person in charge of the company explained and demonstrated in detail the functional characteristics, iteration process and practical application scenarios of different products.
