CTO Education Entered the Field of Financial Technology: the Yangtze River Delta Fintech 30-Person Forum and CTO Financial Technology Executive Education Project Conference were successfully held

Shanghai International School of Chief Technology Officer (hereinafter referred to as CTO School) of East China Normal University was founded under the leadership of Qian Xuhong, an academician of the CAE Member and president of East China Normal University, and is the entity teaching and research institution of East China Normal University. Financial science and technology is a new field of science and innovation education developed by ECNU’s CTO School, which reflects the talent cultivation concept and positioning of the college, namely, the combination of science and technology with management, the integration of technology and commercialization, and the integration of scientist spirit and entrepreneur spirit. On October 28, CTO School and the Institute of Fintech Research jointly held the Interpretation of China's Digital Financial Transformation Policy and EMTO Course Conference on Financial Science and Technology Management. At the meeting, CTO School, together with ECNU’s Institute of Fintech Research, launched the first Executive Management of Technology Officer (EMTO) program in China.

At the press conference, Mr. Chen Qiwei, president of the Yangtze River Delta Institute of Financial Science and Technology of East China Normal University, delivered a welcome speech. He said that this forum focused on the future development direction of financial institutions proposed by the 20th National Congress, concentrating on how financial technology can empower mainstream finance, how mainstream finance and the real economy can empower each other, and how to drive the digital transformation of the financial industry. 

After that, Dr. Xi Hui, manager of the Financial Informatization Research Institute of the People's Bank of China, delivered a keynote speech on the Content and development trends of financial digital transformation. She analyzed six major trends of current financial development: financial technology development, financial payment method development, inclusive financial development, ESG and sustainable financial development, financial supervision optimization, and technology-driven financial transformation. Later, Mr. Chen Qiwei, Dean of the ECNU’s Institute of Fintech Research, announced the release of the high-end training program for the Executive Management of Technology Officer (EMTO). He said that the current shortage of high-end talents in the application of financial science and technology is a common problem for financial institutions. The real front-end demand of the financial digital industry focuses on innovation and breakthroughs. Mr. Wang Zhenghuan, Deputy Dean of CTO School, said that the EMTO high-end training program for financial technology management executives combines the needs of enterprise digital transformation and national talent needs, and is committed to training high-end talents required for the future-oriented financial technology management discipline.

Later, Mr. Zhang Jun, Executive Vice President of ECNU’s Institute of Fintech Research introduced the high-end training program for EMTO, expatiated on the latest financial technology management practice, technical practice, management ability, and core competence. Mr. Li Yitao, Chief Technology Officer of ECNU’s Institute of Fintech Research, delivered a keynote speech on New Driving System under the Technology enabled Financial System. He claimed that the two key themes of the high-end training for EMTO financial technology management executives are the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and financial technology. However, at present, both of them are still at a very early stage in China, with immature development. The role and capacity building of domestic CIOs are still at the exploratory stage.

After the keynote speech, Mr. Sun Xingyan, honorary chairman of Shanghai Xinju Network Information Technology Co., Ltd., Mr. Sun Zhengyang, chairman of the board, Mr. Chen Qiwei, and Mr. Zhang Jun, president and vice president of the Institute of Fintech Research of East China Normal University, jointly signed the New Centurion Smart Financial Innovation Laboratory. Ms. Wang Xin, Executive Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Banking Association, Ms. Wu Lili, Chief of the Financial Development Section of Huangpu District Financial Office, Mr. Xing Bo, President of Shanghai Financial Information Industry, Mr. Chen Qiwei, President of the Institute of Fintech Research of East China Normal University, and Mr. Wang Zhenghuan, Vice President of Shanghai International School of Chief Technology Officer of East China Normal University, Mr. Sun Xingyan, Chairman of Shanghai New Centurion Network Information Technology Co., Ltd., jointly opened the growth empowerment camp. Mr. Chen Qiwei, Dean of ECNU’s Institute of Fintech Research, Mr. Li Yitao, Chief Technology Officer of ECNU’s Institute of Fintech Research, and Mr. Huang Dingjiang, Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Data Science and Engineering of East China Normal University, jointly joined a roundtable forum themed Research and Analysis on the Value Management of Commercial Bank Credit Customers Based on Big Data Technology.

The special event of the Yangtze River Delta Financial Technology 30-People Forum was successfully held. This event took the form of an offline+online live broadcast. More than 100 financial technology experts and enterprise representatives attended the event offline, and more than 800 people watched the live broadcast of the forum online. Nearly 1000 people participated in the event, and it had a wide range of influence.
