MEM Open Class and Liwa River Campus Experience Day was successfully held at the beginning of May.


During the interactive communication with the incoming MEM students, Dean. He Jiaxun explained the responsibilities and future development  of  CTO School (Shanghai International School of Chief Technology Officer,ECNU) and explained the characteristics of MEM Elite Program

Dean He delivered a keynote speech on  "Next generation of Business and Management Education to Address Huge Challenges". He emphasized that in the face of the  problem of shortened innovation cycle, it is necessary to strengthen the education and cultivation of creativity, especially the cultivation of the next generation of innovative talents.  “Innovation“ should be the keypoint of all business education. Those talents trained in response to mainstream social development trends would have competitiveness and greater social value. Those enterprises that combine a micro and macro perspective that emphasizes management would make greater contributions to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Dean. He introduced the MEM program from multiple aspects, including the overall overview, education innovation system, the contribution of MEM education innovation to the new education ecosystem, and the construction of industry education integration bases.  The training goal of the program is to adapt to the demand of China's science and technology innovation development strategy for high-level talents for artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, biomedicine and a number of strategic emerging industries and cultivate talents that have good political and ideological quality and professional ethics, master systematic modern engineering management theories and methods, have solid technology transfer and achievements transformation ability, advanced management science ideas, open and active critical and creative thinking, integrated humane accomplishment of science and technology, and global vision and crossover and cross-field lateral thinking ability and outstanding organization management and technology leadership, and can act as technology management leaders in technology enterprises and grow into strategic technology entrepreneurs in the future.

During the appointment ceremony, Dean. He Jiaxun awarded Xu Yulin the Distinguished Practical Professor Certificate at the Shanghai International School of Chief Technology Officer of East China Normal University.

Dr. Xu Yulin, titled Artificial Intelligence Towards the Peak of Creativity, made creativity the central topic of this open class. Starting from her own work and life experience, she elaborated on three topics: What is peak performance, What defines creativity, and How can AI empower peak performance in creativity development.


On how to maintain Peak Performance and cultivate the creativity of oneself and even the next generation, Dr. Xu proposed six key words for creation, namely self-knowledge, communication, collaboration, openness, conflict management and other management. She believes that artificial intelligence is a tool for enhancing creativity, and with the help of artificial intelligence, it can continuously ensure the peak of creativity. She emphasized the importance of creativity and proposed that in order to maintain self creativity, it is necessary to form a healthy system in daily learning, including daring to challenge unfamiliar knowledge areas, establishing lifelong learning, using scientific methods to learn, learning from people around her, and maintaining a healthy physical state during learning. The Students actively proposed related questions after the speech and Dr. Xu  interacted with everyone warmly and answered each question one by one.

At the end of the campus experience day , the teaching staff team led the students to visit the beautiful Putuo campus of East China Normal University, walking around every corner of the campus with laughter and joy, appreciating and experiencing the gorgeous spring scenery and profound cultural heritage in the campus.
