On March 14, 2024, the 9th "MEM Practical Classroom for Sci-Tech Innovation Enterprises" was successfully held at BRL Medicine Inc., focusing on on-site discussions on the theme of engineering management and leadership courses. With the mission of "leading innovation with gene editing technology, developing breakthrough therapies, and benefiting all mankind", BRL Medicine relies on its independent research and development center and the "Shanghai Gene Editing and Cell Therapy Research Center" jointly built with universities. Currently, it has produced more than 100 patent achievements, with 5 projects conducting clinical trials initiated by researchers in 8 well-known hospitals, and 3 projects having been approved for IND, officially entering the registration clinical trial stage. There are still multiple projects entering the IND application stage.
In this practical classroom, more than ten MEMers and MEM graduates from CTO School
and Excellent Engineering College came to BRL Medicine to deeply understand and understand its innovation in the field of biomedicine, and personally experience its outstanding achievements in gene and cell therapy. Professor He Jiaxun, Executive Dean of CTO School, and Zhang Qiongqiong, the administrative director, participated in the event together.
Song Xuemei, Director of Asset Management Department, shared her experience in project strategic planning and collaboration with everyone. She introduced the five innovative technology platforms of BRL Medicine, namely gene editing technology innovation platform, hematopoietic stem cell platform, universal cell platform, non-viral targeted integration CAR-T platform, and enhanced T cell platform. Based on the five major platforms, there are also several product pipelines. She introduced how her team can help accelerate products on the same platform through resource integration and experience sharing, and encouraged everyone to cultivate collaborative leadership in their work.
Xu Nan, Vice President of HR at BRL Medicine, gave a presentation titled "Defining the Future with Youth - The Path of Innovative Pharmaceutical Career Development", introducing the company's internal organizational structure, salary and benefits, career development channels, training support, etc., leading everyone to further understand the operation and management mode of start-up companies.
After the wonderful sharing and report, students raised questions and exchanged ideas on the process of clinical research and treatment, the future development of CAR-T, project management experience, and other aspects. From the perspective of cross integration of technology and management, they explored this excellent biopharmaceutical innovation enterprise and combined their own work experience to further reflect. They will internalize what they learned today and externalize it in their hearts and actions, applied to practical work and future career development planning.
