Date:2023-06-08

The Project Management Research Committee (hereinafter referred to as PMRC) of the China Association for the Study of Unified Planning and Economic Mathematics, founded by Professor Hua Luogeng, is responsible for organizing and implementing the national project management discipline innovation competition for college students, It is also the China regional selection competition for the International Project Management Championships. More than 1000 teachers and students participated in the competition from more than 230 teams from more than 100 universities, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, East China Normal University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Beihang University. Shanghai International School of Chief Technology Officer (East China Normal University) has achieved excellent results in its first team competition - MEM student Zhang Xinyao has won the first prize, which is a new breakthrough in the school's MEM program for outstanding education!

Their Stories:

In May, the warm spring gradually fades away, and the bright early summer has already arrived. In May, many courses for the MEM project were pending, and students were busy preparing for exams, presentations, and papers. In such a busy schedule, our participating team members persist in learning theoretical knowledge of the competition and completing group operation training. Many late nights, we fiercely discussed how to complete progress management, cost management, and other issues.

After the daily course ended on the evening of May 27th, the participating team members left the classroom after completing the equipment debugging at the exam site the next day. On the morning of May 28th, the team members arrived in the classroom to discuss and develop team roles and task plans. During the exam, everyone cooperated well and successfully completed the team competition content; In the afternoon's personal theory session, four participating team members worked hard to complete the competition related content in four corners of the classroom.

Of course, the competition is not the end. As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and senior leaders in information technology and systems for enterprises, we need to have a project management mindset in both work and learning. Integrate this mindset into work, conduct preliminary research and planning thinking before acting, and provide basis and guidance for subsequent work; Having a holistic mindset in action to control the overall situation and guide correctly to achieve the expected results; At the end of the action, there is a summary mindset, and only through summary and reflection can we achieve better results in the subsequent work. Looking ahead to the future, we need to continuously accumulate knowledge, learn project management well, and make a good technical layout to seize the ever-changing opportunities in the digital age and bring a brighter future to enterprises and industries.
